BYU House and U of U House After Utah head football coach Ron McBride dies and enters the Pearly Gates, St. Peter takes him on a tour. He shows Ron a little two-bedroom bungalow with a faded University of Utah banner drooping from the front porch. "This is your house, coach. Most people don't get their own houses up here," St. Peter says. Ron looks at the house, then turns around and scrutinizes the one sitting on top of the hill. It's a massive multi-story mansion with white marble columns and little patios under all the windows. Huge BYU flags line both sides of the sidewalk and a huge "BYU Cougars" banner hangs between the marble columns. "Thanks for the house, St. Peter. But let me ask you a question. I get this little two-bedroom house with a faded banner -- and LaVell Edwards gets a mansion with new Cougar banners and flags flying all over the place! Why is that?" St. Peter looks at him incredulously for a moment. "That's not LaVell's house," he intones. "That's God's."
