A couple of years ago, a friend was in a taxi in Los Angeles on his way to an inter-faith conference when a peculiar billboard caught his eye. It had a simple message that impressed him: Pray for President Clinton. Now, he had not voted for Clinton, but felt that the billboard truly conveyed the proper mind set we should have, that of supporting the president through our prayers. He noticed a line of small writing at the foot of the billboard, but he was too far away to see it well. So, he asked the cab driver to turn around and drive by the billboard again, but a bit closer, that he might perhaps make out who had sponsered the billboard. The line of text at the bottom was not a sponsorship, but rather a reference to a verse in the Bible: Psalms 109:8. He committed the verse to memory, and looked it up at the next available opportunity. It reads "Let his days be few; and let another take his office."
