Ward Clerkin' Each Sunday in our Sacrament Meeting, the ward clerk leaves his seat at the start of the closing hymn to count those in attendance at the meeting. He begins at the front of the chapel and silently studies each row, making notes of the numbers on a small pad of paper. He slowly strolls to the back of the chapel, all the while the members are singing. A boy of nine in our ward leaned over to his mother to warn her: "Here comes that guy who writes down the names of people who aren't singing loud enough."
